Considering Towing? Considering a Hitch?
Choose the Right Hitch for Your Subaru Ascent
With more and more people considering trailer adventures this summer, a bunch of you are considering getting hitches installed – get the OEM.
It’s Part Number L101SXC004.
It’s the only one that integrates properly into the Ascent’s frame rails, the only one that’s third row crash tested to meet the Ascent’s third row crash test requirements, and the only one that comes with 4 pin and 7 pin harnesses, and the brake controller pigtail.
If you want to save money on labor, it’s an easy DIY install, and well worth it.
The two big beefy bars in the image are the bars that go inside your Ascent’s frame rails and bolt into the frame rails. This is the only hitch that properly integrates into the Ascent frame rails.

- Make an appointment at Goldstein Subaru and tell them I sent you to get the hitch, installed, for $528 (plus tax).
- Reach out to Dan Meola at Liberty Subaru, Inc., Emerson, NJ and tell him I sent you, to get the hitch, installed, for $528 (plus tax).

NOTE: the cover plates in the video are cosmetic and not included in the new hitch kits.
- You must use a brake controller for trailers over 1,000 pounds, even if your state law is higher.
- Do not use a Weight Distributing Hitch. Here’s why:
